Science Policy

YKAST reflects the creative ideas and expertise of young researchers in science and technology policy through policy discussions and research meetings with the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Assembly.

Additionally, through various collaborative projects, including commissioned research, YKAST supports young scientists in taking a leading role in the policy-making process.

As the national and societal responsibility for science and technology continues to grow, YKAST conducts roundtable discussions and policy research in collaboration with the senior members of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) and YKAST members. These efforts aim to propose policy directions and visions that align with governmental needs.

※ Depending on the topic, content, and target audience, the findings are published in formats such as the KAST Research Report, Issue Report, and Next-Generation Report.

Next Generation Report

YKAST members at the forefront of research take the lead in the Next-Generation Report, where young scientists actively participate. This report explores key issues in future science and technology, policy directions, emerging core technologies, the latest research trends, and a vision for pioneering these fields.
